Mark8t’s Delicious Tool for Google Toolbar
Have you ever been at work and wanted access to your bookmarks from your home computer? Or maybe you are at work, and you come across a site you want to read about later in your spare time at home. There are many ways to deal with this, from writing down the address on a piece of paper or to emailing yourself the url. Both are effective, but both are frought with their own challenges (like losing the paper or forgetting to check your email at home). One of the ways found to solve this problem, was the creation of social bookmarking services. By far, the most popular social bookmarking site on the internet is Delicious. Delicious allows users to tag, save, manage and share web pages with others, from a centralized site. And it easy to use. All one needs to do is download a small widget from Delicious to your browser and away you go.
So with such simplicity, you must wonder why we at Mark8t would then create a custom Google Toolbar button to use the Delicious service. Actually it’s quite simple. We know that technically you can take your Delicious bookmarks to any computer, but not everyone has Delicious installed on their system. As well, it’s not considered proper etiquette to download software to a computer you do not own. That’s where the Google Toolbar comes in. We figured there would be a better chance that someone will have a Google Toolbar installed on their computer. It’s quite ubiquitous these days. And besides a custom toolbar button is much easier to install than any Delicious software.
So what can Mark8t’s Delicious button do? It will allow you to access your Delicious bookmarks via any Google Toolbar. You can also add bookmarks to your Delicious account with just one click or have access to your shared bookmarks on any computer you wish. Also, unlike the Google Toolbar bookmark function, you can easily share your favorites. To access or change the bookmark feed used on our custom button, just adjust the settings to the appropriate username. Please note, for security reasons, only shared listings will appear in the feed.
So to get started with Mark8t’s Delicious button first make sure you have Google Toolbar installed. It looks something like the below:
The next step is then to go and download the Mark8t Delicious Toolbar Button made by us. To start using our button, once installed is easy. Just click on the Delicious Icon and login. Make sure to not have the system remember your password if you are not on your own personal system. And that’s it. Now you can surf, access your shared bookmarks, add any interesting sites you come across and have them go straight to your Delicious account. Happy surfing!
***Please note we are not associated with Delicious or Google and this software is distributed as is. Use common sense of security by always signing out of your Google/Delicious account when not using your personal computer. We are not responsible if you forget***
