Is my site banned by Google?
Sometimes when you engage with the wrong SEO “Expert”, you could have a situation where your site gets banned by Google. What does it mean to be banned by Google? It means Google decided to penalize you by not including your site in their index. If you get banned you may ask why. Most of the answers can be found in Google’s quality guidelines. You break them at your own risk. SEO “Experts” who break the rules, are known as Black Hat SEO’s, and they have different levels of success. Some play with fire, others find loopholes to raise their site higher up in the ranking. White Hat SEO’s follow the rules. Some people may consider this a sucker’s way, but we have been very successful, and have never had a client be banned from Google.
If you suspect your site is banned, you can check your website status with Google Site Status Tool. Right away Google will tell you if your site is in the Google index, when it was last crawled and other information you need. If you find your site is not in their index, but you know it was, or it is in other search engines and it’s not a new site, you might be banned. You can check for sure by also singing up with Google Webmaster Tools and getting your site fully checked out.
So what do you do to get unbanned? Well the first step is to review Google’s quality guidelines. Make the changes necessary and then submit your site for reconsideration.
