Recently we were asked for our recommendation of the best free PHP e-Commerce Software. We have worked on almost  a dozen installations in this arena and at one time our answer would have been OSCommerce. Recently, our preference has  changed to PrestaShop especially with our latest experience.  PrestasShop was a breeze to work on and its great to see the promise of the BETA made it to full functional production . In it’s latest incarnation PrestaShop is  simply a fantastic solution for the novice looking to open an online shop of their own or the expert looking to get an online store up and running quickly.  Besides being feature rich, Prestashop  is easy to  customize and there is a vibrant and active  support forum. It is without doubt the best alternative to the popular OSCommerce, especially  for those looking for a quick and simple way to start selling products online.
