Extract All Your Keywords From Google Analytics
The other day we wrote about Google Analytics and how you can become an expert. Sometimes, you just don’t have time to be an expert and need the shortcut to solve a solution. In this case, we wanted to export all the keywords for a client from their Google Analytics account and see what keywords were driving the traffic for them and those which weren’t. We recommend webmasters and owners to check their keyword realities often to see if you’re hitting the word you are targeting. So how do you get all this great data. Once you log into your Google Analytics account, under “Traffic Sources”, click “Keywords”. You will see a list of keywords which you can view by clicking the arrows. Also, if you try to export them you will only see the first 500. So how do you see them all? Follow the steps from this tip:
1. In Google Analytics make sure you go to Traffic Sources > Keywords report.
2. Add the words “&limit=50000″ to end of url in browser address bar and hit return.
3. Click the “Export” button and then choose CSV.
4. Open in Excel and have fun.
There you have it! You will be able to play with your keywords with a pivot table or make them pretty with Wordle. Quickly you will see what words are working and what words are missing. You will be able to tweak your content, or add more on the content that is driving traffic to your site. hello, i tried but it not success
Okay. Seems Google made a small change. What you do is follwo the steps, but what you do is copy the link location of the CSV file. Paste it in the url bar, and then add “&limit=50000″ to end of the url. Hit enter, and you will get all your keywords. Example:
Normal URL: https://www.google.com/analytics/reporting/export?fmt=2&id=xxxx&cmp=average&rpt=KeywordsReport
New Url for all keywords: https://www.google.com/analytics/reporting/export?fmt=2&id=xxxx&cmp=average&rpt=KeywordsReport&limit=50000
This only seems to work with Internet Explorer. I couldn’t get it to work in Firefox. FYI
Weird worked for us…
