iGoogle Dashboard: Track Your iGoogle Gadgets
Google Gadgets are great. They allow a website owner to create dynamic content that can be placed on any page, iGoogle page or on the Google toolbar. Gadgets can be games, mini applications, news feeds, maps or any content. Maybe you have even created one to promote your site or content. But while its great to create a gadget, do you know how popular it is? Or do you know which country has the most users? Up to last week your best guess was all you had. Google has now released an iGoogle Dashboard. The iGoogle gadget dashboard according to Google is a place where developers can manage their gadgets and see detailed analytics about their gadgets’ usage. Right now the dashboard allows you to see user numbers over time, number of gadget loads in home and canvas view, as well a geographic break down of users, but they promise more is coming (see below for an example). To get going log into your Google account, enter the URL of your gadget, and send an email to your account to confirm your ownership. That’s it. Enjoy!
